Choral Arts Ensemble of Portland opens their season with concerts entitled, Earth, Sea & Sky: The Beautiful Poise of Lightness – a program that explores our relationship with the natural world and the communities that sustain us.  Featuring Alex Berko’s A Sacred Place, Jake Runestad’s Secret of the Sea, along with texts by Wendell Berry, John Muir and other environmentalists, these concerts explore community, nature, compassion, and healing.  Cascadia is proud this season to continue our long-standing collaboration with Choral Arts Ensemble, and their October concerts will also feature four new works by members of Cascadia and our parent organization, the National Association of Composers, USA: “How Did the Rose” by John Beeman, “The Dark Rose” by Martin Blessinger, “Gentle Stars” by Aaron Soltis and “Of Stars” by Dawn Sonntag.

Stars and roses!  A perfect combination for our warm, crystal clear early fall weather.
